What's the Aviatrix Berlin concept?
The atelier was founded to embrace the artists that lost the opportunity of using the normally shared spaces once they become parents, because their children usually, are not welcome in the average coworking rooms or shared ateliers in Berlin. It was the first (and still may be the only one!) child-friendly atelier in Berlin, since 2012.
Where is Aviatrix Café?
Since 2013 we open our Café with the idea of having a space to meet, make events, and serve healthy and homemade food and drinks for the whole family and their communities. It was an amazing time, but after seven years we decided that the atelier should have more space and our art took over the Café room. Now everybody can still enjoy the cozy atmosphere of our café in our events, keep in touch. Check our program.
Who can rent a place in Aviatrix?
Artists, freelancers, academics, people who want to have a place to concentrate outside the home. We have three rooms, with different profiles that suit different needs. The big difference is that the presence of our children is more than welcome! - but you don't need to make a child be part of the community, of course ;-)
Are the atelier spaces in a shared room?

How is the Aviatrix community?
Since 2012, we had different artists and professionals passing by: a very international community of illustrators, site-specific artists, translators, photographers, painters, programmers, academics, filmmakers, graphic designers, etc. Some of us are here for more than four years. Some leave (because important reasons like having a small baby, work or moving to other countries) and come back… Our goal is to have, as much as possible, a stable group, where everybody knows and helps with each other if needed. We support collaboration and respect. It is a professional and cozy ambient.
Do you have a kitchen?
Yes. It can be used by everybody. Check the conditions.
Do you have a printer?
Yes. We have a laser BW scanner and photocopy printer. Check the conditions.
What kind of facilities can I use in the atelier?
Long ladder, small spotlights, power extensions, brushes, scissors, cutters, gouges for linoleum, glue guns, paper cutter, tools for silk screen, easels, extra tables, sewing machine, and many other tools that belong to the atelier and can be borrowed for a specific use.
How close is it from Tempelhofer Feld?
We are just 100m from the entrance. Hasenheide Park is also a 5min walking distance.
What kind of services do you have around the atelier?
- - Supermarket and street bio market on Saturdays: 250m;
- - Cafés, restaurants, bakery: all around, just a few meters distance;
- - Banks, street market, shopping centers, art, and hardware store: 1km, 5min biking through Hasenheide Park;
- - Playground for children: 20m;

- - Transport: 500m from U8 line and many bus lines.
Do you have an open space?
We have the formal authorization to use the sidewalk in front of the atelier to bring tables+chair+whatever we need to work, chill or have a meal. We do work outside, enjoying the sun when the weather is good :-)
